- How to read the paper piecing pattern and how to use it in a block or a quilt.
- Why paper piecing is an important “tool” in a quilter’s tool box
Foundation Paper Piecing is a quilting technique where the outline of a quilt block is printed on a sheet of paper. Fabric is sewn along the outlines, and then the paper is removed at the end. At the end of this 4-hour class, students will complete a block using the paper piecing technique.

About the Instructor
Always a sewist and a lifelong fiber artist, Marianne fell in love with quilting and it quickly became a passion and a commitment to fiber exploration. Using upcycled fabric and refurbishing and using vintage sewing machines introduced Marianne to a community of like-minded artists.
Marianne started teaching because she wanted to share her experience with the many expressions and dimensions of Foundation Paper Piecing. Every time a student “gets it” and uses it in their quilting, Marianne shares a sense of accomplishment with them
